At a very young age, Carolina began customizing the pieces of swim-wear she owned, feeling uninspired by the selection available in the shops.
After studying fashion in Medellin and in Milan she worked as a consultant for various international swimwear and lingerie brands.
In 2001 she decides to move to Milan and launches Los Trapitos Al Sol in 2012: a brand that captures the Latin sensuality and tropical festiveness with Italian refinement and craftsmanship.

All garments are created and produced after a thorough phase of research inspired by both her frequent trips around the world, in particular, Latin America, and selection of fabrics from the most famous companies in Europe and finally, a strict control of the production process in a workshop near Milan.

Feminine, festive, and—effortlessly—elegant; each piece is heavily influenced by the vibrant colors of her home town: Colombia and is injected with a sophisticated New Age boho tropical  vibe.

Ruffles, bare shoulders and tropicália-themed prints bring new silhouettes and a ray of South American sunshine into your day. The iconic “Loose One Piece” was created after her first child was bored and became immediately one of the brands best sellers. This creation met the needs of those looking to feel comfortable without having to sacrifice sensuality and style. Her matching mother-daughter creations in Liberty Cotton have also become a summer must a family getaway.
